Welcome to Tyysgol Borzoi.
I live in a very beautiful valley in South Wales, UK, with my husband and sister.
I was first introduced to Borzoi nearly 20 years ago and fell totally head over heals in love.
I bought my first Borzoi back in 2001 Mischran Petrov (Charlie), the most wonderful and loving boy. I then went on to buy siblings Ryazan Harvester and Ryazan Hazel in 2003. I also became interested in showing, and attended several Championship shows including Crufts.
My next Borzoi was Yegorov Midsummer Blaze who we imported from Seija & Jari Piippo (Yegorov Kennel) in Finland, this was before the passport scheme had come into being. It was a long and complicated procedure and very costly but well worth it. Alaska was the most loving and gentle boy and our first "smiler".
We then decided to return to Mischran and soon had a new family member Mischran Ardimizar (Archie) we sadly lost him at a young age, he was our big baby.
The next addition to Tyysgol was our "clown" Taraz (Yanjoy Spirit In Wind). He loved every one and everything. He was shown and enjoyed strutting his stuff. He did very well at Crufts winning a big graduate class. Unfortunately he was diagnosed with bone cancer just after his second birthday and we lost him a few months later.
Ryazan Nijinsky came to join our family in 2007. He was a beautiful boy and enjoyed running and cuddles. He bonded with Alaska and they became inseparable, sharing a kennel until we sadly lost Alaska just short of his tenth birthday.
We then decided to import. This was so easy as the pet passport scheme had been introduced. I had fallen in love with a bitch puppy at the Iorek's Kennel Sweden, and Amari (Iorek's Jump For Joy Over Tyysgol) bred by Anna & Izabelle Akerstrom came to join us. Very aloof and very much a "mummy's girl" she has grown in confidence and has been shown with some success.
We kept in contact with Anna and Izabelle and they decided to have a litter using a male who I had fallen in love with when I had met him at a show a few years earlier. The dog in question was Multi Champion Borzowski's Phenomenon.
I was very quick to let Anna know that I would definitely like a puppy from the litter.
Iorek's Brienne Of Tarth soon came to live with us. A beautiful, elegant and very feminine bitch, Bri settled in and instantly bonded with Amari.
She has been shown with great success and in 2016 gained her title of UK Champion under the very respected judges Jean Clare (Ryazan), Garry Mason (Glenhaford) & Linda Worthy.
A few months after Bri's arrival we had to say goodbye to Nijinsky. Our home didn't seem the same without boy's.
In 2015 we decided to import again. We were looking for a male this time. We found a very beautiful male puppy with good bone and substance. He was bred by Edit Vereczki (Go Go Bolshoi) kennel in Hungary. We imported Go Go Bolshoi Tango. We also decided to bring his brother along as a companion (Go Go Bolshoi Boogi Boy). They both have great characters and are very sweet natured. Tango has been lightly shown and is doing very well. He is maturing into quite an impressive male.
On 25th June 2017 we welcomed into the world out first Borzoi litter. Our beautiful girl UK. Champion Iorek's Brienne of Tarth Over Tyysgol gave birth to 3 boys and 2 girls sired by UK. Champion Go Go Bolshoi Sundance Kid To Jamarqui owned by Alma Abrahams....
Tyysgol Guinevere (Winnie) is our keeper from our first litter. She is a very outgoing and very mischievous puppy. I think we will have a lot of fun with her. All being well She will make her debut in the ring in January 2018.
